Is there any way...

...to do a seach specific to a particular area: such as a search just in blogs, or just in articles, or just in chessopedia, or just in the forums?

... to have a check box or something similar whereas a person blogging can indicate that his/her blog is of a chess nature and, extending this thought, allow searching within that parameter, i.e. only in blogs that are checked as containing chess content.

My universe is crumbling, batgirl has shown she is a mere mortal like the rest of us.

But, to the the point, No, I don't believe you can search within specific areas or parameters on this site.

as to #1 - YES: http://www.chess.com/search.html?q= you can go there and then do a search in that content type by category

as for #2 - NO: we are currently re-thinking how to organize the news/article/blog content as it is kinda fuzzy and not totally clear. any thoughts would be helpful!

I don't know if it is already possible (for administrators) but it would be useful to be able to move content from one section to another (e.g. from articles to blogs) or forum entries from one forum to another (e.g. from anywhere to off-topic!)

Thanks. Would it be possible to link to that page with something like "advanced search" underneath the search box found at the top right of every page?

"Why not just "tesser" it?"

Does that mean something?
