Tactics images delayed on website

Since the (presumably) new Tactics and game web upgrade last week, I am seeing 1. Clocks starting in Tactics prior to the board being ready, 2. Some chess piece images not downloading, so the board is incomplete, and there are invisible piece(s), resulting in failure because, well, he has hidden pieces. I can see the page is still downloading from cloudfront.net while this is occurring.

I am getting similar behaviour in both live chess and online chess with cloudfront.net loading during this.  I just spent half my evening following instructions to combat cloudnet issues in general, but while my Google chrome in general is running much faster after that antivirus sweep chess.com is still causing problems.  Maybe this cloudfront.net access is perfectly benign from a virus threat point of view, but it certainly seems to be linked to the invisible pieces I am seeing and slow updating of the board.
