Why do I get players with much higher ratings than I have set for the game?

I set the ratings I want for my opponents and I press play and I get someone a hundred points higher than the maximum I have set the game for.  What can be done to stop that?

They mostly did away with that type of seek this last year.  Staff explained the logic in this thread:  http://www.chess.com/forum/view/livechess/new-logic-for-auto-pairing-and-seek-graph

Changing the ratings in the "Graph Options" settings only changes the display on the Seek Graph.  If you want a specific rating, you have to do a custom seek. They predicted a long wait for matches, especially if your custom seek range excluded your own rating.  (For example, a 1200 rated player seeking matches with players rated from 1000 to 1100.)  Is that what you are doing?

No.  All ratings are set between -100 and +100 of my rating.
