I've played about 20 games on yahoo chess, and they allow takeback requests. And in your case that option would be handy, but I'm glad chess.com doesn't have that option (that I'm aware of). In those 20 games my opponents asked to take a move back at least 6 times..sometimes claiming mouse problems, other times just because they made a blunder or semi-blunder. In those 6 requests or so there was 1 legitmate mistake with the mouse, the other requests were just unsportsmanlike I felt.
I did have a game unravel that I was in control of when I meant to castle but moved my rook instead of king so instead of castling I just moved my rook, but still felt I messed up and should suffer the consequences.
In a game recently my opponent playing Black obviously intended to castle but played Kf8 instead. He succeeded in getting his king to safety as well as developing his KR, but I was able to break through for a win. If there were a way to stop the game or allow a takeback, I would certainly have allowed it.
