Can someone explain to me why if I'm moving as fast or faster than my opponent in a 1 min game, how my time seems to click off faster????? My time will show .5 his will show .2 but mine goes to 0 after I move!!!  I played a game where virtually all the moves I made were "pre" moves and still lost the game by .4 seconds...how is that possible!!!

pre-moves are slower on chess.com, they take off a minimum time each turn.  If you hold and drop the piece as soon as they move, you can get more moves than via pre-move.

I don't know the answer but my instinct tells me that both clocks are EXACTLY the same.  Any difference is just a perception issue due to lag between the two computers.

You're probably right.   Since this post, however, I did start using FireFox for chess.com only.
