CLASSIC CHESS PROBLEM

bxc8=Q is one of the possible second moves. At first, just a hint. Next try.

just FY too! first move= c5.

1. bxc8=N!!
The king can't move and is in zugzwang. Balck will move anything and then 2.Nf8#
Bc5 instead of Nc3

Missed that one
So 1.c5 If 1...Bxc5 then 2.bxc8=Q and mate will follow, if 1...Nxc5 or 1...Rxc5 then 2.bxc8=N and mate will follow.

Sunshiny, 2. Nf8 isn't mate in your line.
1. c5
a) 1. ... Bxc5 2. bxa8=N threatening Nxf7
b) 1. ... Rxc5 2. bxc8=N threatening Nf8
I have some trouble with 1. ... Nxc5 because black is threatening Nxe4 making some free squares for his king.

1.c5
If 1...Bxc5 then 2.bxc8=Q and 3.Qxd7 is unstoppable
if 1...Nxc5 or 1...Rxc5 then 2.bxc8=N and 3.Nf8# is unstoppable.

Thre's a lot of variation in the second move. Reason why I did'nt post the moves. But the key move is c5. just find the sequence.

Yes, i just came to that conclusion.
Oops, just noticed Loomis mentioned the problem with Nxe4.

Yes, i think this means i've done enough puzzles for now. (I really shouldn't have missed seeing the queen cover that spot.)
What if the knight stays on c5 for the second move? I think my solution fits better.
