What is wrong with Qxe5 ?

  • 5 years ago · Quote · #27

    Tyzer

Qxe5+ is blocked by Be6. It only delays mate by one move, but hey, when a puzzle asks for mate in one, it really has to be mate in one move.

it is, there is a Queen on d8 that just promoted but you are only looking at the rook.

You can't promote that pawn because the black bishop in c8 is gonna check your king.
