Ooooo!  Probably the only time we'll ever see Barry Manilow and Motorhead on the same list.

The Motels (!)

Megadeath  Symphony of Destruction

However....

Mahavishnu Orchestra.  Holy moly, what an eargasm!

Eargasm -- I like that!  You just made that up now?  Yeah, I used to make fun of Barry Manilow when I was younger, but that still is a good song.  And I'll say it proudly -- so is "Ice, Ice, Baby", which will be in the V-List!

May have heard it before--don't know--but I do know there's a far more explicit version in a certain someone's blog.  ;)

Hey, B. Manilow, Vanilla Ice--bring 'em on.  Makes the list interesting!

The thing is that Vanilla Ice was so popular, and then all of a sudden fell from grace.  Give me a break.  A song is good or bad, and its goodness or badness does not vary with the popularity of the artist.  If it was a good song before, then it is still a good song now.

Almost forgot--a little surprised by the Alanis M. omission.  Jagged Little Pill   ;)

Maybe that one song, what the hell is it called again?  Mr. Play It Safe was afraid to fly, packed his suitcase, kissed his kids good bye, waited his whole damned life just to take that flight, and as the plane crashed down he thought well isn't this nice.

Yeah, that was it.  Other than that, I am not a huge fan.  As for this M-List, my vote will be for "Pyramid of Cheops", but it could just as easily go to "The Four Horsemen", "Space Lord", and "Scare Crow".  All amazing songs!

I wrote this whole thing and it disappeared.

I'm just going to say that McCartney has "Maybe I'm Amazed." One of the best songs ever.  Metallica gets my vote for years of great songs.  I think they get better with every album.  I don't really like anything before Ride the Lightning.  My favorites are "No Leaf Clover" and "The Memory Remains."  I like Mellancamp "Paper and Fire." I think that Dave Mason must be on the list with "We Just Disagree."  This is also one of the best songs ever.

To those who are interested one of my favorite bands is Mansun.  They are kind of a cross between Tears for Fears and Radiohead!  Here is one of their many great songs. "Take it Easy Chicken!"

OMG!

What a FAB list...So many excellent songs.  Shawn Mullins Lullaby is one of my all time faves, I really can't understand why it wasn't a bigger hit here.  As for Bette Middlers Wind Beneath My Wings, call me a girl... but I can't listen to it without choking up.  I would be more inclined to go with Rain or La Isla Bonita from Madonna, don't get me wrong Borderline is good, just not my personal fave.

How is there no Mr. Bungle on this list!?!?!  "none of they knew they were robots" "desert search for techno allah" and frankly, the chorus bassline to "dead goon" is one of the greatest basslines ever written.  oh, and not to nitpick, but she spells it aimee mann

That would fall under D, although I am afraid that I am not familiar with him.

It's interesting the combination, and the balance. I like it, and I guess your personality has a lot of this dual. I like Manilow..."Even now" I went to his concert here in miami this year, and "still can heart so bad". But I also like U2, Ph. Collins, Pink Floyd, and chess

Here is an incomplete list of "M" songs, starting with an "M" that is.

http://www.famousinterview.ca/WhoSangThat/who_sang_that_m.htm

Incomplete as my first selection below to listen to from Barbra Streisand, called "Memory" is not listed.

Nevertheless, I find it an interesting selection.

Perhaps you can post your favorite from to listen to or any other selection with the letter "m" in the song tittle.

Random choices to listen to :

1. Memory: B. Streisand, always been one of my favorites, you have to listen:

2. Whitney Houston, Miracle, if only for her voice:

3. Mona Lisa, Nat King Cole:

4. The most beaufiful girl, Charlie Rich:

5.Mack the Knife, Bobby Darin also one of my favorites:

6. Maria Elena, a beautiful slow waltz, very sentimental:

7. My Way, fRANK sINATRA:

That's all for now folks.

If you want to post your favorites with some exerps to listen to or a full song it would be great to share your music.
