So ... Anyone else been to Vulcan ???

remember, a true Vulcan (not Spock) feels no emotion (debateable) and Spock is not typical of all Vulcans, being half human.

Thanks for visiting my thread here again Jtt96. You make an excellent point in regards to Mr. Spock. However one must remember that he was raised on the Planet of Vulcan and then left as an adult to join Starfleet. With Spock being exposed to all things Vulcan from an early age one could perhaps say he was not only 1/2 Vulcan, instead he nearly 3/4 of that origin ( after all he had even learned the mind melt technique  lol ).

Spock also (in TOS) denies any feeling of emotion even when it seems fairly obvious that he is.

Thanks for the new posts. Recently I was reading a thread here and came across a photo posted there from what must be one of the funniest Star Trek episodes. Yes Tribble fans I'm talking about " The Trouble With Tribbles " episode and the photo in question shows Captain Kirk half buried in Tribbles after opening a overhead door, truly a classic ! I mean that Star Trek was often quite serious but the change of pace was quite nice.

Thanks for the recent posts. I've never learned much in regards to the unusual alphabet used in parts of Eastern Europe. For info into the history of that area one would have to do research on the Byzantine Empire. 

One area of interest for those of us that are fans of the first Star Trek series are the movies that were made with the original cast. I think there were about eight movies based on the first TV series. Some critics felt that the first movie was a bit thin in the plot department but things improved from there as further movies contnued to be produced.  

I do remember that after the first Star Trek Movie was released there was some disappointment among fans of the original TV series. The special effects were quite good in that first movie, however the storyline was not up to the standard that fans expected. The second movie was entitled " The Wrath Of Khan " and brought back one of the best villains from the TV series. It was of course good to see the movies succeed as that meant that more would then be made.   

When looking back at the original Star Trek TV series one notices that the special effects were not at the same level as the later movies. Of course the weekly show was on a strict budget and was made at Desilu Studios which was not one of the major Studios. Also the computer generated effects used today had not yet been invented at that time. As an aside, the Desilu Studios were of course at one time owned by Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz, long live The Lucy Show !  

When I mentioned the 2cnd Star trek movie in a earlier post I was reminded that they nearly made a very serious error in that film by killing off Mr. Spock. Mind you they were able to bring him back in the next movie so things worked out, I mean a Star Trek movie without Mr. Spock --- scandalous  lol.

Yeah, that would've been bad.

Thanks for the recent post Jtt96. Of course it has been quite a few years now since the original TV series first aired and a couple of cast members have sadly passed away. However Captain Kirk for one is doing quite well and at age 80 has released another book. The fact that William Shatner has the energy to carry on with his showbusiness career and also put out a book at his age should inspire all of us to keep busy and try to do things !
