While raising my children, from time to time they would get themselves into trouble.Like most of us they suffered suitable consequences, such as standards, and being put on restriction. There was one thing a little different.Upon being asked "how did this happen?" if the child was quite clear as to the occurrences that lead  to the crime, then it was known the risk involved and  must have been worth it.Now if the answer was " I don't know how" then the delinquent was not thinking moves ahead and needed some time next to a board.

They are no longer young and seem to make better choises than the next guy.So I'm asuming it worked.

In fact I find I am 2 10ths of a second faster over 100m when I sleep run, than when I am normal.

Umm ... are you saying that you taught your kids to play chess and that they grew up mostly sensible, making mostly, though not always, good choices? Possibly due to playing chess? If so: congratulations! If not, congratulations anyways!

Actually, in England you'd be sleep standing.

Hello and i kinda sorta understand what you mean. I mean chess can apply to way more than just school. Now i will admit i'm a 14 year old, but it applies to more, i know this. And it was of course the fact that i wanted to play online chess and learn from someone online that i came to this site. So I understand.
