I agree that the Elite Forum could devaluate the rest of the forum. But may be the word 'forum' is not correct. I mean a category.
This is either a good idea or a terrible idea
One complaint that people express is that the forum has to many trolls and "N vs B threads" to be interesting. An idea to counter this is an Elite Forum. Only people with a certain rating are able to post there, say 2000+. And how about allowing diamond members there too?
+ if you want to read high quality chess posts, you know where to look
+ could encourage high rated players to post and read more on the forum(s)
- could encourage some people to cheat
- might make the rest of the forum (even) less chess-quality-post dense
