The match with The Chess Magic is as good as done.

In the future I will ensure admins who send challenges are aware of this part of the Close Match Mission Statement.

"Through negotiation between teams, set the pairings so either team has a chance of winning the match. This means registered players will be judiciously cut to even out the pairings. This makes it more fun for all."

Cut artfizz & mhawk_13 - and leave it at that - since there seems to have been some misunderstanding over the basis of the game.

(Aren't you finding it a headache, TadDude, applying the CloseMatch principles?)

I managed to convince a couple of higher rated players to register so we can make a go of it.

I was just about to ask whether you would take one for the team and lay a joyless beating on Chessyellow. I will save both you and m_hawk13 from this fate.

As for applying Close Match principles. On a technical perspective it would be easier with a much larger team so I always have a large excess of players to cut, since the other admins are reluctant to do so. On an intellectual perspective, "winning is everything" is part of the culture, so it has to be dealt with.
