the broadcast for round 7 went off nicely. tomorrow we'll have another broadcast during the last round, with players from the event coming in to share their thoughts with the hosts. and in round 8 you can see the games (without commentary) by going into live chess, clicking on the analysis tab, and then viewing the 5 games there.

WOW, Paragua is playing out of his mind.  6-0 Taimanov, 6-0 Larsen, 6-0 Paragua.  Is he going to clinch this thing with 2 rounds to spare?!

IM DPruess, Tim Taylor put his game against Khachiyan on his website. He did not annotate it, just has couple line intro in the begining because he got home after 1 am this morning. Here is the link:http://timothytaylorartist.com/2011/01/chess/first-round-draw-with-black-against-khachiyan/

Awesome! Yes, get us some live games guys!!! Good luck to all "Norm Hunters"...

interesting... i would have thought Molner has the best chance at making a norm and then he loses with white in the first round.

on the other hand, i think he lost in the first round of last year's copperstate intl and then made a gm norm.

i want to see a Khachiyan game! looking forward to the live relay going up on chess.com.

I would very much like to see NoCal's 15-year-old Daniel Naroditsky get a GM norm here, although that will be a difficult challenge, I think.

Daniel will also likely be playing in the US Chess Championship in St. Louis later this year.
