how is this a bad opening for white? sorry if this seems like a stupid question im a newbie to these openings.

Despite it's bad record I think this is still playable for white at beginner level

IT'S A BAD OPENING FOR WHITE.

Although this might explain a certain ease of invasion in WWII, this is not Norwegian anything. With the early Nf6, it isn't even the "Modern Defence". Please, could someone qualified take over the openings section?

This seems like a good position, but I don't think an opponent would play that in defense very often?!
