i went back to our local chess club (mainly just two or three older guys ... it's been that way for 15 years) and played an old friend ... where he used this ultra agressive g4 move as white ... went back home to look over some old games I had analyzed with Fritz 6 against him in 2001 and he played that same line over and over again back then ... I did pretty well against him with more of the classical setup as black with pawns on d6 and c6 but after seeing this on chess.com i'm going to take a serious look at an early e5 move.  Chinese variation? yes indeed Fritz shows Lee Soi Hock-Yap Genting Highlands 1998 on move order 1.d4 g6 2. e4 Bg7 3. Be3 Nf6 4. Nc3 d6 5. Be2 c6 6. g4 0-0 7. g5 Nfd7 8. h4  Qb6 (maybe Qa5 is better) ...  I didn't like this position as black ...
