My favourite response to 1. d4. Take a look at the Lasker Trap below, it's very useful if white plays 4. e3 after accepting the countergambit.

After dxe5, black plays d4, and hopes that his strong D pawn and whites vulnerable e5 pawn will make up for the gambit pawn.
