Changes In Invite Method

CaptainPike | Nov 23, 2012, 12:01 AM

Hello, everyone!

One game left and it looks like skyler_kelly will likely take 3rd and the winner of the final game will take 1st; either pawnshhop98 or pedrochessplayer!

I've been doing some thinking about how I've managed tournaments I have sponsored and here are a couple changes:

1. To cease annoying people who don't want to be invited, I will no longer be sending out random invites.

2. I will no longer use announcements for invites to groups.

3. A group has been established called "Starfleet Marine Corps". I will be sending invites to my tournaments through this group. If you would like to continue to receive invites to my tournaments, feel free to join.

4. "Starfleet Marine Corps" will remain open to Team Matches and Vote Chess. Please keep in mind, however, that if these activities do not interest you, you may always turn off group alerts at the group level by clicking the "alerts" link, right side of screen under the "Starfleet Marine Corps" logo.

Thank you for participating!

More King's Gambit for those interested!

Down to the final three: pawnshop98, pedrochessplayer and skyler_kelly!

Good luck, you three, and thank you, everyone, who participated!

Welcome to the tournaments!

I have been involved in tournaments where the tournament director neglected the tournament. I will do no such thing.I do track comments and I do respond to messages. Due to my work schedule,  I can not monitor each player in a tournament each day, so I depend on the contestants to advise me if they feel something needs to be addressed by the TD.

I am a stickler about keeping the ratings of contestants consistent with the tournament parameters.

Please bear in mind that as this is not an "official" tournament, the scripts will not place you in the appropriate groups, so if your rating changes, feel free to sign up in the correct category!

We look forward to seeing you in one of these tournaments!
