Ladies and Gentlemen,

Thank you for your participation in the Masters Tournament!

The tournament field is comprised of sixty-four (64) players with an average rating of 2376.

Among the participants are thirteen (13) titled players, including three (3) GM's, six (6) FM's, one (1) WFM, two (2) NM's, and one (1) CM.

This is an elimination tournament, featuring many of the strongest players on the site, so the competition will be fierce.

None of the pairings is easy, but the pairings for Groups 12, 14, and 16 are especially difficult, because there are two titled players in each of those groups.

Have fun, play with confidence, enjoy the competition, and may the best player win!

valentin-I agree with your sentiments. I am quite surprised that i have progressed to round 3 today when the leading player in my group was eliminated because of cheating. Not sure that i have appetite for this tounament any more as it has been going on for 2 years now!

It's sad to see that so many of the supposedly leading players in this tournament have now been disqualified for cheating, after having eliminated apparently well-behaved and deserving other players.

Better late than never, I guess.

Hats off to everyone else who plays chess with their own heads!

i think that this tournament would be very good if the players were faster...two of my opponets wait until the last 10 seconds of their clock to move...they also go on vacation every 10 days...but anyway thanks for the tournamnet and for the many competitive players you have brought

Danny, I'm sorry you decided to withdraw from the tournament, but I understand your frustration over having to play games that last longer than expected. Playing online games against someone using vacation time can test one's patience. Nonetheless, Chess.com does allow the use of vacation time, for various reasons, so I feel it's best not to jump to conclusions.
