Friends,

This is a very common system of Ruy Lopez family. Great Anatoly Karpov is one of the exponent of this variation and now-a-day it called Karpov-Zaitsev system.

Hope, you people enjoy it.

with thanks and best regards,

mkaalam

    @robparker

    basically Zaitsev = Bb7,Re8,Bf8 in any order without wasting time on h6. The move order only affects the options you have as Black if White tries an early a4, an early Bg5 or a repetition of moves with Ng5-f3-g5-f3.

    Not 100% sure, but I thought the Zaitsev variation went 9. .... Bb7 10. d4 and only now 10. .... Re8.     :/
