ARC 5.0!
It's with great privilege and honor for me to announce that ARC 5.0 is officially here! ![]()

Of course I must give credit where credit is due. This wouldn't of been possible without one of the newest editions to the ARC Admins, and this newsletter is dedicated to:

YoyoPuppy! She's been incredible with the forums, vote chess and inviting people. Just extreme activeness everywhere in the ARC! I know since she's joined there hasn't been a day go by where she wasn't in the ARC. I really hope you'll show your love and support for this awesome member here: https://www.chess.com/member/yoyopuppy ![]()
"Wait, what's ARC 5.0?"
Oh, I know, it's been so long since ARC 4.0 everyone probably doesn't remember this means. Well, every 100 members (or so) we throw this huge celebration with new features and cool stuff. Big thanks to Galaxy_Storm for inviting pouncingpawn who became our 500th member!
"Okay, what's happening with ARC 5.0?"
I'm glad you asked! This pleasant, surprising jump in members really threw me off guard so I haven't prepared much but I can tell you what we'll have for the start:
FRESH NEW THEME

So you've probably noticed we've been on a space kick for the longest time (that's because I like space and space is cool), but it's probably time for change. My idea is to change it to a cozy, futuristic city feel. I know it's different but I believe it will suit the ARC nicely. What will change:
- GIF ARC Avatar
- Custom HD Background
- Revamped Scoreboard Look
I know it's not much but it's a start. ![]()
Now for the biggie. ![]()
A.R.C. SOCIAL MEDIA
I believe there has been too much talk in the past about an ARC website. Once, a member even bought the domain arc-chess.com and gave it to me! Honestly, I really don't see the need for an ARC website when all the available resources I would want in a site are right here and accessible to me on chess.com. Being that it was there I used it and even though arc-chess.com once had thousands of members we closed the site because it got too hard to run (spammers and e-mails and support questions... bleh, hurts just remembering). So I am very content with not extending outside of chess.com as far as running websites go. There's still a useful site that I cannot find fault in using:

Bear with me now. Remember how I said I was going to highlight great games being played in the CMT? Well I'm still sticking to my promise. I have hold of Houdini 2 for analyzing and the full version of Bandicam for recording. It almost seems too perfect to make a private channel for reviewing the club matches and give lessons when need be. If anyone's uncomfortable with me reviewing them just let me know ahead of time and I'll bypass your games. Other than that, I'll let you know once ARC TV is a thing. ![]()
(don't worry, I'll probably come up with a better title than that). ![]()

Do you think the ARC is going in the right direction? Please let me know in the comments! ![]()
