Atomic_Rift's Current Status
I want to deeply apologize for my inactiveness as of late, especially to this amazing team of mine. Because you're all like family to me, I believe it's important to let you know what's happening in my life. Now that I'm starting to actually make money through music, I've made the decision to keep everything as legal as possible. Even if this includes every entrepreneurs' favourite subject, taxes. I am completely serious about doing everything in my power to "make it" as a music artist, so I'm willing to take great measures to do so. Here's an example of what life's like right now, here's a copy/paste of this week's To-Do List:
1. Fill out and send off a Tax ID form from H&R Block.
2. Check with my local Job Services building about forming a business plan.
3. Write out a vision for my brand (2/3 paragraphs).
4. Research advertising another company laws.
5. Visit my local BBB office.
6. Send demos to several record labels.
7. Make/purchase business cards.
8. Meet up with my accounting cousin for coffee to talk about tax laws (call tomorrow).
9. Make an appointment at the Employment Office.
10. Publicly release my official website.
All while still in school... all prayers are greatly appreciated! I believe the most important thing for me right now, is to not only work as hard as I can, but to also have a positive attitude about everything. Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. No, I'm not clever enough to come up with something like that, I just quoted Steve Jobs. I still believe in that quote 100% though. This doesn't mean I'm going to give up after the slightest bit of stress I feel about my career choice, but it does mean I'm not going to let it consume me so much so that I have to give up the other joys of life I have (you guys). I hope this newsletter has inspired you. I will hopefully be seeing you around!
