Clarity + ARC Bylaws

Hey guys, I'm really sorry I spiraled this whole club into chaos. After coming back today I feel a great need to be here. Once I consulted my business manger about my music, we narrowed down what I needed to do and when; everything kinda just flowed smoothly. My music's progressing just fine and believe the right thing to do is remain leader. I am very sorry for being indecisive, I know that's not what anyone wants in a leader, but if what I've see today is any indicator how this club will be run without me, then I believe I should definitely remain here. It is very true that I cannot be as active as I once was, so that is why I have made a full game plan for when I am gone on a big project:

ARC Bylaws for Leadership

1.0: Everyone needs a leader, and when that leader is gone (i.e. me), that's what a 2nd-in-command is for. As you may know, I gave that privilege to quietvolcano awhile back. He is fully in charge when I am gone. Plain and simple: every SA answers to him.

2.0: As far as admin matters go, or promotion needs, please see unusualkid about that. He is Head Admin and cannot be demoted, he's earned that.

3.0: Even though we have these leadership roles, I am appointing a Counselor: EragonShadeslayer03. Meaning even though he's not on very often, when he is, everyone (including myself), will heed his moral advice.

4.0: As far as set in stone, permanent admins that cannot be demoted, I give this honor to cobrahenz. The amount of work/time he puts in for the ARC chess-wise is unmatchable. Please listen to him when he asks you to do something, he does a great job of evening out responsibilities. Remember, progress of club matches is important and he does a fantastic job of this.

5.0: It is actually very important to me that every admin remember this:

  • Notes and Forums - For fun and non-chess related activities.
  • Newsletters - For important updates and chess activities.

Reason for this is pretty clear when reading the Member Bylaw 1.0.

ARC Bylaws for Members

1.0: If you are a chess player that's actually here for the chess, I greatly encourage you not to leave because you are overwhelmed by keeping up with the activeness. This has already happened once too many times. Here's a simple solution I came up with if you want to just play chess but not miss any important updates from me, you can easily do so by going to the club "Settings" and unticking "Notify me when a note is posted," and untick "Notify me when a new forum topic is created."

2.0: If you are here just to socialize and make new friends, please do not feel compelled that you must help us out chess-wise. My hope is that every member can have fun here.

3.0: Please be respectful and remember the ARC is for all ages, meaning we do have many children here, so please keep in mind the language you're using and if it's family friendly. Failure will result in temporary ban.

Sadly, I will continue to be inactive as I am in the process of releasing a new EP and my website. However, I shall be back and active before November 16th to announce the winners of the Club Match Tourney! (don't worry, you guys have a big spot on my website!)

To chase a rabbit hole to end on a positive note, I have come up with a really bizarre idea. One problem with my life is how time consumed I am to run two completely different worlds, music and chess. More than half my subscribers are chess.com friends... why not combine them in a strange hybrid to get the best of two worlds? So my editor and I have agreed to work on at least 1 episode of A.R.C. TV. I will be reviewing a few of my favorite Club Match games (with Houdini for accuracy in analysis). My chess coach (thismic) had asked me to do something like this a long time ago, wish I had listened. At first, my editor was extremely against it for professionalism of a music channel, then I pointed out how different the content of professional Youtubers were before they went big. When you're a small channel, you can try different things, so he saw my point of view.

What do you think of all this? Your opinion on all this is extremely important to me.
