Bulldog Report June 2018
The bulldog report for June was delayed a bit because @Martin0 was on vacation. There are a lot to talk about here, but first, here is a little incident (link) that happened at the start of the month.
Could this be the main reason why @Martin0 had to use vacation time? Was he captured the whole time? We may never know, but at least he seems to be safe for now.
June activity:
Even without advertisement we got a handfull of new players and we are not lacking in activity. In June a total of 27 games were completed which makes us having completed 139 games in total. 48% of the completed games ended by a loss on time.
Rule clarification:
One thing clarified in the rules is that resignations and announcing vacation time must be done in the forum you are playing in. If you try to announce vacation time elsewhere, then the declaration of vacation time will not be valid.
Challenge game:
The challenge game between @Martin0 and @captaintugwash is still in progress. @Martin0 is fighting to keep his crown to remain the bulldog chess champion, while @captaintugwash tries to become the champion for the first time. The game is still in progress (link).
Superdog Tournament:
In the superdog tournament (link), the second semi-final has been completed. @Martin0 managed to beat @HorribleTomato and advanced to the final. The final will be between @Martin0 and @Captaintugwash. The game has not started yet and is scheduled to start after the challenge game between @Martin0 and @captaintugwash is completed.
Big Dog Tournament:
In the big dog tournament (link) @TonyL123 did not show up, so @landontu joined the tournament instead. @landontu played against @unc07 in a playoff games where @unc07 won on time. In another playoff game @ScootaChess managed to beat @aidanB1 in 31 moves.
In the semi-quarter final games 5 games have been completed. @rychessmaster1, @JohnHS and @thegreatauk won their games on time, while @HoloGraphWars won against @evert823 and @SuperSam1 won against @hitthepin. In the game between @thegreatauk and @HorribleTomato, @HorribleTomato was having an argument with another member and missed his opponents move and timeout warning and therefor lost on time.
The first quarter final in the tournament has also been completed and it was between @thegreatauk and @HolographWars where @thegreatauk managed to win.
Another semi-final game should start soon between @SuperSam1 and @JohnHS, but it has not been scheduled yet. That is a game I will look forward to to watch since I believe they are both underrated players.
New and Old dog tournament:
2 new tournaments have started. One old dog tournament and one new dog tournament. The old dog tournament is for some of the old time players, while the new dog tournament is for new players (with some wild cards). The old dog tournament features the witch and guard, while the new dog tournament features the witch and time thief. All games in the first round has started in both tournaments except one and that is the game between @Junebug444 and @SuperSam1. I believe that game is supposed to start Friday the 13th. One game has been completed in the New-dog tournament and that is @landontu winning against @friedmelon.

Rating Achievements:
Some impressive achievements has been accomplished. @rychessmaster1 managed to become the second player to ever get a rating above 1500. He got a rating of 1519 after winning 6 games in a row. His rating then dropped after loosing against @evert823, @thegreatauk and @Junebug444 all the way down to 1361, but he has climbed up a bit again with a respectable 1453 rating.
@thegreatauk has also have had some impressive results and managed to become the third player to ever get a rating above 1500 with a 7 game win streak which includes a win against @rychessmaster1. He got a rating of 1524 and has not completed another game since achieving that rating.
Leaderboard:
Quite a lot has happened on the leaderboard. We have 7 new players shown on the leaderboard. The most active new player is @HolographWars which has completed a total of 5 games. @friedmelon is a player that was removed from the leaderboard because of inactivity, but has now returned! @SuperSam1 is a member that finally managed to get his first win. The other new players are @landontu, @JamesAgadir, @ScootaChess and @Bad_Dobby_Fischer.
When it comes to the top 10 the biggest change is that @thegreatauk has become the #2 ranked player and @HolographWars joined the top 10. @rychessmaster1's rating changed a lot, but in the end his rating is just a bit higher compared to before the month of June started.
