Club Match Announcement!

Hello! Atomic_Rift here with a new, short and sweet newsletter. Today's topic: Club Matches

Everyone has probably noticed the crazy amount of new Club Matches we have to join in (44 to be exact). I would like to deeply thank cobrahenz for making them. I would of never been able to make them all. So thank you cobra.

Going from 10 to 54 club matches is a huge leap for the ARC. A milestone we haven't achieved yet. I understand if you feel reluctant to help out in many of those club matches (it's a big jump!), so I've decided to add some motivation for this wave of new games. A:

Club Match Tourney!

"Hang on, this sounds just like the Scoreboard?"

Yes, it does. In fact, it is exactly like the Scoreboard except everyone's scores have been temporarily reset back to 0, as of Tuesday (sorry I didn't get this out in time).

"How long does this tourney last?"

Exactly 6 months (Ends November 16th, my B-day). Hopefully that is enough time for most people, not using vacation time, to finish their games from this wave.

"Why would I want to be part of this wave?"

I will be paying close attention to the development of this tourney. I will regularly post exciting games, great moves played, and keep you updated of the top scorers.

"Why would I want to put in the effort to win this Club Match Tourney?"
Good question. Here are the Top 3 individual prizes:

  1.  $30 payout via PayPal guaranteed
  2.  100 trophies
  3.  50 trophies

"I don't trust you..."

I've been a well trusted member of chess.com for nearly 5+ years. I am very sincere about giving credit where credit is due. In this case, I want the person who is willing to help out the ARC the most be able to buy something nice for themselves.  (Also, don't worry about me. I've been blessed with a mowing job )

"Why do you say 'guaranteed' like that?"

In the strange case that 1st declines the prize for whatever reason, 1st and 2nd prizes will flipflop (and so on and so forth). I am eager to provide the screenshot of proof so it will be easier to organize something like this again in the future.

That is pretty much it! If you have any questions that I did not touch on here, please let me know!

I would like to know if you are interested to see the results and games of this CMT (as I'll call it) play out or do you find this whole thing a little tacky? Please alert me and I'll do what I can to improve. If you are interested in playing in this tourney (or just partly is also a big help!), the first big batch of games start May 21st-23rd:
