Crazyhouse Championship Starts Tomorrow, Nov 6
Dear Variant Fans,
Tomorrow, on November 6, we all get a chance to go a little crazy because the Chess.com Crazyhouse Championship is here! The variant where initiative means everything is part of the 2025 Chess.com Community Championships event series, featuring a $2,500 prize fund.
Crazyhouse is one of the oldest and most beloved variants on Chess.com. It is similar to Bughouse but designed for individual players. When you captures a piece, it is added to your "bank" and can be used later as part of your own army.
This unique dynamic allows for beautiful sacrifices since taking the initiative can be decisive.
As usual, the two-day event will have eight qualifiers on Day 1 and the knockout Final on Day 2.
Qualifiers on November 6
- There are eight arena qualifiers.
- Each qualifier is a 75-minute arena.
- The time control is 3+0.
- The winner of each arena qualifies for the Final.
- Players already qualified for the final cannot play in subsequent qualifiers.

Knockout Final on November 7
- Eight-player double-elimination knockout.
- The time control is 3+0.
- Each match consists of four games.
- If the match ends in a tie, players contest 1+2 games until there's a winner.
