LCML Season 4 KICK-OFF
Dear chess friends, it’s a pleasure to announce you that Season 4 of the Live Chess Mediterranean League is about to start. The new season will have many new features compared to past editions.
Firstly, Season 4 will be played in the round robin format with the teams split in two divisions: Div. 1 (required at least 12 players per match) and Div. 2 (required at least 4 players per match).
Secondly, each round will be played on more than one match (namely 3 matches in Div.1 and 2 matches in Div.2) and on two different time controls: 3+2 (blitz) and 10+5 (rapid).
Thirdly, in Div. 1 the two blitz matches are played simultaneously, respectively by under 1600 and over 1600 rated players, giving “short” teams more chances to compete with longer ones.
Lastly, standings are made considering only match points and no more game points, thanks to the greater variety of possible results assured by the new setup.

The sign up to Season 4 starts officially on Sunday April 23, and will be left open for 3 weeks. Then, one more week will be devoted to adjustments in the composition of divisions, if needed, so that the competition is expected to start in the last week of May.
To sign up it’s sufficient to post a message on this page. Teams that played last season may just confirm their participation to the new season and confirm/change the name of their captain. New teams shall post the following information:
- Name of the team
- Link to the home page of the team
- account Name of the team captain (mandatory - must be a team administrator)
- account Name of a vice-captain (optional)
