Exciting news for Puzzle lovers today as we unveil not one but TWO huge additions to the rated Puzzles experience on web: 

1. Earn points for your correct solutions and level up to gain new ways to score while competing with your friends!

2. Coach for Puzzles is here to help newer players get more familiar with tactics and to assist even experienced Puzzlers quickly understand what is wrong with their incorrect moves!

Puzzle Points

If you've been doing Puzzles on our Android or iOS app lately, you already know what we're talking about: Earning points and levels for your Puzzle wins is finally coming to web! Each correct solution earns you points - with bonus points awarded for more difficult puzzles, for solving quickly, and for getting streaks of puzzles correct in a row! Your rating might go up and down, but puzzle points never decrease!

As you progress, move through eight different Tiers, starting with Wood Tier, each of which has 20 levels. You will earn scoring bonuses with each new Tier, and these will help you earn points more quickly - plus there are bonus rewards to discover along the way! For instance, if you solve three puzzles correctly on the same day...

Of course, earning points faster means levelling up faster! See how you compare to your friends in terms of puzzles solved and bonuses earned!

(Of course, points earned on mobile and now web will count toward your overall Puzzle Points total.)

Coach for Puzzles

Next up, say hello to Coach, who has arrived in Puzzles to bring the same chess insight and clarity we love from Game Review! In Puzzles, Coach can help you out in three ways (all of which are optional):

1. Puzzle Goals - Coach can reveal the primary Goal of the whole Puzzle as soon as the position appears. This is an especially excellent option for new players.

2. Coach Hints - When you hit the Hint button for the first time, instead of having the board highlight the correct piece to move, Coach will first offer a verbal hint. (You may click Hint 1-2 more times to see the piece to move and the correct next move as well, if you wish.)

3. Mistake Feedback - When you make an incorrect move, Coach will evaluate it and offer immediate feedback! [slaps forehead]

You Have Options!

This is a lot of newness all at once, and we understand that not all players will be equally interested in all of these new features. You can opt out of earning puzzle points and all three of the Coaching features individually, as you prefer. Just click on the Settings link at the bottom of the rated Puzzles side-panel to see your options.
