Saturday Afternoon Chess on August 1
Join the Sacramento Pawns club for our weekly COVID-safe chess on Saturday.
The Kids & Amateurs starts at 1:30 PM for those under 1400 in Chess.com rapid rating. Everyone can participate in our main event: the Pawn Storm beginning at 3:00 PM. Call your friends!
Attendance has decreased over the summer. The system cancelled the Kids & Amateur multiple times in recent weeks due to lack of interest. Several players rated under 1400 have joined the Pawn Storm instead. Please be aware that both tournaments require a minimum of 4 players for three rounds, 8 players for four rounds and 10 players for the full five rounds in the Pawn Storm.

When: Saturday, August 1 from 1:30 to 3:00 PM
Who: Open to club members under 1400 Chess.com rapid rating
Format: FOUR (4) ROUND Swiss in one section

Who: Open to all club members regardless of rating
Format: FIVE (5) ROUND Swiss in one section

Time control: G/10 + 3 second increment
Minimum: Need at least 4 players to avoid automatic cancellation
USCF Rated: No
Entry: Free
