Greetings, Silverdale Chess Club Members,
This week at the Silverdale Library, we will be catching up on the World Chess Championship match, and also giving each member a chance to showcase their tactical skills in an open arena with Puzzle Rush!
Like Gladiator, although completely family-friendly, we will put up the Puzzle Rush screen at Chess.com and invite each member to test their mettle in open forum in the 3-minute timeframe while their chess club friends cheer therm on (and try to solve the puzzles as well).
Puzzle Rush puts mostly 1-2 move checkmates on the board in rapid succession. It is your job to find the checkmates (or less frequently, the win of material) before the next position appears.
The more puzzles you solve in the 3-minute timeframe, the more points you accrue, and the higher your score.
It’s one of the best ways to learn to recognize winning tactics in all of chess.
Casual game play will also be going on, as usual.
Hope to see you here!
