Here we go again! Our next event is tomorrow, Tuesday July 7th.  We will start at 3:30 PM Pacific time, 22:30 UTC, which should give time for Titled Tuesday to finish.  Time zone converter: https://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/fixedtime.html?msg=Untitled+Tuesday&iso=20200707T2230&p1=1440.

This will be a ten round event.  The time control will be three minutes with one second of increment.  Note that this is a change from previous events, following a similar change for Titled Tuesday.

The use of computer assistance is not permitted.  Games will be monitored for fair play violations.  Please do not cheat.

To join, go into the live chess server and select the Tournaments tab.  The Untitled Tuesday event will appear in the list an hour before it is due to start.  You can also use this link: https://www.chess.com/live#t=1307305.

Note that chess.com has implemented a late-join feature, so if you miss the start of the tournament you can still join.

Saturday Event

Since there is no time that works for everyone, we will vary the time of the Saturday event every month to accommodate different time zones.  If the time one month doesn't work, maybe next month will be better.

This month, we will go with 09:00 UTC, Saturday July 11th.  Time zone converter: https://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/fixedtime.html?msg=Untitled+Tuesday&iso=20200711T09&p1=1440.  We will send out one reminder news post on Friday.

Again, we will go with ten rounds.

Tournament link: https://www.chess.com/live#t=1307307.  Alternatively, you can find it in the live server as described above.

See our schedule of upcoming events for the time of future Saturday events: https://www.chess.com/clubs/forum/view/schedule-of-upcoming-events

Changes in Leaderboard Scoring Method

As Weekly Events of Untitled Tuesday drew no fewer participants than the Major Event, we have decided that going forward, all Weekly Events shall count equally towards the annual Leaderboard. However, in order to provide opportunity to those members, who cannot participate every week, the Saturday Event shall count double the other events. For detailed comparison, see the table (courtesy: @MGleason) at: https://www.chess.com/clubs/forum/view/event-history-and-leaderboard-2020.

Note to streamers

If you are planning to stream one of our events, please let us know in the comments here, and link to your stream.  We'll be glad to promote you!
