Upcoming Chess Tournament: Grand Pacific Open 2019 (April 19-22)

If you're looking to take a little getaway this Easter long weekend and want some competitive chess in the bargain, consider registering for this year's Grand Pacific Open in beautiful Victoria, BC! (**Early bird deadline March 11**) This event usually attracts players from across BC and Washington State. This year will see some international competition in the Premier section, with GM Alexandr Fier from Brazil, GM Andrey Gorovets from Texas and WGM Nino Maisuradze from France already pre-registered. Format: Six round Swiss; game in 90m +30s; four rating sections: Premier, U2000, U1700, U1200

Prizes: $6000 guaranteed prize fund; cash prizes for 1st and 2nd in each rating section as well as best U1800 and best U1400
