Vote call for Vote Chess
Hey guys and gals,
I used to be a SA for Scary Ninjas, but work got into the way along with other things, and I had to quit. Anyways, in our club we had admins who ran different parts of the club, including vote chess. What I want to suggest is implementing a vote call. In my opinion, it was one of the best things we implemented. How it worked was in the team vote chess chat, we discussed possible moves for our official move, and then the admins would announce the vote call which usually was the most agreed on move. Naturally, this meant that we needed to have many people talking, but this system brought more people to the games because of the organized manner we played. I believe this helped us become a super strong vote chess team (Scary Ninjas is in the top 1% of teams in vote chess with a 82% percent win rate), and it really helped us work as a team, along with sparking dialogue.
Of course, we couldn't do this without a grace period, so we gave a 2 week grace period where we would warn members, but didn't take further action.
After the grace period, we gave members warnings for infractions and reminded them of our vote chess rules.
Second warning: Ban from vote chess games
If a player ignored all these warnings, we would boot them (with admins discretion).
Note that any move was allowed in the opening, as long as they were reasonable moves.
