This first round, most games ended quickly. Some took some time like Mario Homer versus Anthony Rhodes in an interesting, “King’s Indian vs The Alekhine”-like, opening.
The longest game occurred between Lenden Rhodes and Drew Peck, where Lenden trades his worst bishop early for Drew’s best, but allows Drew to free his other bishop and slowly improve his position. Unfortunately, it was not enough as mistakes under time pressure gave Lenden a better position and win on time.
