In this game black 'invests' the queen banking on a forward knight outpost and the bishop pair as well as lead in development. But in the final phase of the game a more patient build up of forces was needed. Fortunately white also lost patience se...
White offers both bishops - the one accepted , the second declined but to no avail.
White throws everything but the proverbial kitchen sink into the attack.
How else to describe the final move of white's combination ?!
Black blunders leaving his queen 'en pris'. But White declines and instead sacrifices his own queen for an unusual smothered mate.
Intuitively it felt to me that Black's position was somehow cramped on the Queenside. So I played 14. g4 and a few moves later the tactical possibilities - exploiting the 'cramps' - became apparent.
