Why Chess Improves Patience

Chess teaches players to slow down and think carefully before making decisions. Rushing moves often leads to mistakes, while patience can create stronger plans and better opportunities. During a game, players must stay focused, predict their opponent’s ideas, and wait for the right moment to attack. This helps develop self-control and discipline over time. I think chess is valuable because the skills learned on the board can also help in real life situations. Strange how sixty-four squares can teach humans not to panic every five seconds. Society could use more of that, honestly.
