Copium - attack the bot?
I realize my tunnel vision results in inaccuracies and mistakes. When I see Nf7 from a game review, it looks better than the bot recommendation. But is it? Bloggin this out I can now see KxN!
Why am I so ready to dismiss the bot and insist on a ill conceived alternative? On the categorization of moves:
- Brilliant: A difficult-to-find, excellent move.
Best: The top engine move.
Excellent/Good: Strong moves, but not necessarily the absolute best.
Inaccuracy: A slightly weaker move that subtly worsens your position.
Mistake: A bad move that noticeably worsens your position.
Blunder: A very bad move that often leads to a significant loss of material or the game.
This would be a blunder due to the lose in material.
Worse their is a free pawn pickup Bf7, with the Nd5 fork.
I guess I've secured the capture of the e7 pawn. While writing this I've used AI and it gave me a encouragement, "It's a testament to your growing chess intuition that you recognize this as a recurring and important pattern! Keep looking for these types of tactical opportunities."
Here is another. This one comes from another bot coach. It is hammering me on my e2 decision. Why?
Kf3 would be a queen/king fork. e3 then opens the file so the rook protects the square.
This post is an hour of my life. Not counting the games to get to this level of frustration. I know this thought process would suck the life out of the people I would play against. I mean this is not fun.
Yet, I've always wanted to get better. The tools have advanced so that I can learn. I just need to get the fun back.
