Hey, Hell!
We know your chess experience can be impacted by small changes in chessboard behavior - and today we want to let you know about two Settings that can improve performance during real-time games. Both settings can be found at https://www.chess.com/settings/board.
First, Animation Type determines how quickly pieces move to their target squares, both when your opponent moves and when you move by clicking squares. The default setting is Medium, but if you want something faster, you can select Fast or even None. (“None” is already the default behavior for Bullet time-controls, but if you want ALL your live games to feel “bullet-fast,” this option is for you!)
Next, the Move Method setting optimizes board behavior based on your preferred way of moving the pieces, giving you three options. Drag Pieces and Drag Pieces Only are the fastest methods. The latter prevents pieces and squares from being selected merely by clicking. (“Drag Pieces” is best if you mix it up, using either/both methods during play.) Click Squares is a bit slower, but is optimized for touch-screen devices - and may help prevent accidentally dropping pieces on the wrong square.
That’s all there is to it! Want a risk-free way to experiment with these options? Try them out vs a Computer opponent!
Thank you!
