Beating a GM for the first time!

Hi! Welcome back to my blog! This tournament was the Reno Larry Evans Memorial. I played in the open section and I was around somewhere in the bottom half. I had fun in this tournament and did very well, beating a GM as you could probably tell from the title. My score was 3.5/6. Let's get into the games.

Round 1: vs 2207

That game was an interesting game. I think I played well but I had to look out for tactics. That taactic played by my opponent was good.

Round 2: vs 2200

I played a bit passive towards the end. But the game was mostly slightly better for someone or equal for the whole game.

Round 3: vs 1875

This game I played passive and not very accurate. I got ahead of myself because my opponent was low rated. I was mostly playing for time pressure, and it worked because he blundered a piece in the end and almost flagged.

Round 4: vs 2180

This was my favorite game of the tournament because of the way I attacked. I played active and it worked well, leading to my first good win of the tournament.
Round 5: vs 2482 GM
This game made me fell good. This was my first game againsrt a GM and I won! It didn't feel as good as it should have because he didn't play too well. But regardless. it was still a good game.
Last Round: vs 2495 GM
This game was a good game from both sides. I was stoked to play another GM the round after I played my first one. I looked at the game after and I had a draw. This disappointed me a bit, but I still got to play 2 GMs.
I had a good tournament and I was happy with my results. My rating went from 2028 to 2072, so it was a good gain. Thanks for reading my blog!
