Hello, guys!
Welcome to my blog and today i want to give you some tips in finding unexpected (for your opponent
) moves during your games.
This was a game of one of my students with some of my comments and tips during the game
Thus, in this example we looked at method or type of unexpected moves, called "counter attack". Most of the players plays in reacting chess. I mean, queen attacks you knight. Knight have to go back or get defence. But! As we sow, there is third option - counter attack! So, how can we find such moves like this Ng6 blow?
After your opponent made a move first consider attacking, forcing moves! You need to divide the board on 2 parts (in your imagination of course), and find the moves of your pieces on the opponent’s half of the board which will attack something or take something.
In current position we have only two logical attacking moves. Ng6 and f5. And taking into a count that our knight on h4 is hanging, f5 isn't forcing enough to be a good move. Thus we have only good-looking move Ng6 to consider.
And what are the forcing moves? These are:
- Checks
- Captures
- Attacking moves
And only if you have no attacking moves, improve your other peaces or defend.
