A Blog Meme Exercise!
Ok everyone, I am here to learn and I'm a total beginner but I learn things quickly and differently than most people. And it's my own opinion this is why I learn things quickly because I learn things my own way and not how so called "you're (suppose) to do it this way" of thinking. But with that out of the way remember I'm here to first help myself to become the best chess player I can be but also to show others how I'm going about it through my YouTube channel, Discord, etc. That might sound like an advertisement, and it probably is, but my goal is solely to show beginners that chess "while complicated to learn and even much more difficult to master" doesn't really have to be if you just go about it thinking differently.
And for just such an example that I did today lets go over a blog post that interested me. I read the post, which you can check out here and halfway through doing this exercise white was killing black and I was like what's wrong with this scenario? Then I realized that I didn't take off the 'Kb1' but then I seen that was the ONLY dimportant of a piece in this single game? Well, it depends, because like every
game in chess "it all depends" because there are a lot of variables.
Now I won't go too deep into this game because I did have A LOT of notes, but this is all a part of learning. And guys/gals, I use ALL these tools provided by chess.com in many different scenarios from the blogs here, ones that are in books I've read, I copy most games I watch on YouTube from Botez girls, Anna Cramling, Park Hustlers, GM's, IM's, etc. And then I save them so I can go through them with the Analysis page move by move analyzing and checking my answers with the chess engine. I set my analysis to 5 lines "and because I'm a diamond member" I also use Komo and go multiple deeps in analysis. So today, my 7-day trial is up and I have learned A LOT in my 7-days "I would say probably more than most people during there 7-days" and that's really only because I'm retired and I have all day, everyday, to play and analyze chess that's the only reason.
But lets get on with it shall we? This is a screenshot of graphic that was posted in the article on where the game begins and you can see in the graphic below it that I left the b1 knight on the board. So this is where the game is beginning. A "custom beginning" so there is not opening analysis or anything.

I won't cover every single scenario that happen during me continuing this game from the above graphic because it would just be too long and boring for most reading this. This is the first interesting scenario that I'll show but understand A LOT has been happening with me trying to guess what the engine was doing and I'm running about 50% correct now but it's the 50% that I'm wrong that I really need to focus on here because that's the real problem for me to get better. But check it out.

Ok, the table formatting doesn't want to cooperate apparently, but close enough.
As you can see it's showing mate in 10 moves but that's boring right. After all I'm here to learn something. So I took the lowest 13.7 dropped the line down to see the whole course of play it had figured out and went through it. I was stumped at first but after some thinking I figured out it's reasoning and continued with the rest of the lines doing the same thing.
In all scenarios white ended up winning which I found something out that is very interesting to me as stated before. "Did one piece, and a knight at that" REALLY make that big of a different? Now I'm assuming that his original scenarios "as posted in his blog post" worked out to blacks favor as stated. But we have a 2048 "white" going against a 2757 "black" and this brings up another scenario that interest me but won't be as easy to analyze and figure out quickly because it's going to take actual playing against such rated opponents to see or myself but did the 700 point difference between the two really make that big of a different in strategy? I mean with just that extra knight white KILLED black as if he was the GM.
So I feel I have tortured you enough if you're read this far but let me post the final outcome for those interested in seeing. I'm not really sure what's more entertaining my blog post here or videos on my channel? Well eventually see I guess.
