Real-Time Chess – Chess Variant Without Turns

Hello, everyone! I'm happy to share a chess variation that I developed myself. If you can't wait to try it, here's the link.

Real-Time Chess is a chess variant without turns, thus being classified as a real-time strategy game.

Rules

Many rules are identical to standard chess, including the starting position, piece movement, castling, and pawn promotion.

However, there is no turn order: players can make any valid move at any time.

Each piece has a specific speed of movement, which is the same for all pieces. After completing a move, a piece must recharge before it can move again.

Opposing pieces can collide if they are too close to each other. When two pieces collide, one captures the other according to the following rules:

  • If only one piece is in motion, it captures the other.
  • If both pieces are in motion, the piece that started moving first captures the other.

Goal

The goal is to capture the enemy King.
