I am one of the more awkward chess players, having allways prefered to learn by playing instead of learning by reading.  By this I mean, not even rudimentary chess tutorials/books, etc, when I first started to play the game at around 7-8 years of age, even though there was nothing wrong with my general comprehension as such; but to me, the idea of wading through pages of explanation was simply a no no.  I realised many years later that this stupidity; and perhapps arrogance, was of course to my detriment.  The result was that I did not become a strong player and probably never will do.
My chess playing, which is quite a few years, has mainly been with low to mid-level chess programs and chess computers, and was once a member of a club that regularly held computer chess competitions, but my PvP experience is not that much, mainly due to other commitments that makes going to venues, etc, difficult.

Well, this is my firt blog post...
