Who's Your Biggest Fan?
Football season is almost upon us here in the southeast United States, and all ready the excitement is starting to grow. It has been said, that here in the south, college football is almost a religion, and I would have to say that’s true. Between September and December that’s all most people want to talk about. People love to cheer on their favorite teams, and any coach will tell you that a cheering supportive crowd can affect a game as much as the weather.
I was driving the other day, and I was thinking about the upcoming season, when the Holy Spirit whispered something to me. “Do you know I am your biggest fan?”
I was taken back for a moment. I’d never really thought of it in such a way. When we’re out there yelling and cheering and waving our flags and foam fingers, it’s nothing compared to how God feels about us. God is your biggest fan. He will never leave nor forsake you; He is always rooting for you. He wants you to be victorious and successful. In Him we are all more than conquers.
Sometimes we think that God is some kind of policeman waiting for us to mess up so he can condemn us, but there is no condemnation in Christ Jesus. He’s on your side – always.
So the next time you’re whooping it up for your favorite team – think about it – you might be your team’s biggest fan, but the God of the Universe, is YOURS.
Think about it!
