A pawn piece in chess should be worth more in value because they act as a linked barrier protecting important pieces. Once they reach the other side of the board they are especially useful because they may be swaped with a Queen, Rook, Knight, or a Bishop. A lot of people doubt the Pawn's status when they don't realize without their protection it is too easy. I say without Pawns you'll have a weak force. Pawns are able to go onto the offensive to because of their ability to form links which trap a lot of pieces. They are like the gaurdians of the board. In my opinion Pawns are not credited enough when it comes time to a game.
