This is my first blog. Hope you enjoy it!

Here I would like to provide some tips and resources to improve your chess!

There is a new version of this. https://www.chess.com/blog/AJ109932/how-to-improve-your-chess-1st-revision

Tips:

  1. Solve puzzles to learn tactics. If you want to play this as your style this is known as Tacical chess.
  2. Work on improving your position. If you want to play this as your style this is known as Positional or Strategical chess.
  3. Analyze games from the pros.
  4. Review your games and improve your weaknesses.
  5. SWOTT. This is an acronym to help improve how you look at the board. It stands for Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats, and Tactics. If you look out for these you will certainly become better.

Best Openings:

1. e4

This is a classic and it leads to many tactical combinations.

1. d4.

This is one of my favorites. It is a safe yet powerful first move and can lead to the all-powerful Queens Gambit.

1... c5.

In my opinion, the Sicilian is one of the best openings for black.

1. Na3
This might be a surprising move but is one of the statistically solid openings... The Sodium Attack. Just look it up.
I hope this can make you better. Keep playing!
