The Power of the Discovered Check

I really did get lucky during this game. My opponent was in a good position by move 19, taking my pawn at f6 and threatening eventual checkmate. I have been watching many videos on discovered checks, but I have never been able to use one so effectively. Rarely do I get to use techniques I have been taught to such great effect. Just over a month into my chess journey, I usually miscalculate or my opponent finds a way to avoid my attack. However, as I moved my queen to a5 I hoped my opponent would be oblivious to the trap they were about to fall into. As soon as they moved their knight, mine jumped over to d5 in a move that saved the game for me. My opponent was forced to defend their king, allowing me to capture their queen.
