Reliving GM Alex Lenderman's US Online Championship Victory
Welcome back guys! This isn't your usual blog about analysis or anything I'm going to do my best to convey this to you as a story or perhaps a very very mediocre fortunate series of non-fictional events. Okay here we go lets get started!
The story of the tournament (first couple rounds)
Ultimately I could be writing the story of anyone " Openings Galore from Timur Gareeyv, or " Christopher Yoo's blazing hot start!" or anything like that! Though I decided to write about this and I think well this not even being the story of the event was major. Though the first couple rounds started off extremely well for now 14 year IM Christopher Yoo, he was blazing through the tournament!
Here is a nice win over round 1 opponent Ander Tang. After this he drew his round 2 game and beat Daniel Naroditsky he was 2.5/3 and cruising through the tournament. Though some players forgot and there full focus was on IM Yoo though here was GM Alex Lenderman surging through with 2/3 with some others.
The middle rounds
In these rounds there were lots of draws including a draw my GM Lenderman and IM Yoo. Though
unfortunately chess.com staff member GM Hess went home wait sorry he is home he had no more chance of winning sorry once again to him and better luck next time! There were some decisive games though this blog is to relive GM Lenderman's victory so lets move to my favorite part!
THE LAST ROUND! (Foreshadowing is it!?)
Here this was won of my favorite rounds filled with everything you need chaos drama and a clear 2 winners!? This is one of the craziest games that GM Lenderman played in a must WIN against who else Timur Gareeyv who was still in the fighting for first! Though If GM Lenderman won and IM Yoo won too it would be over though with the roll of the dice and the knocking on the wood IM Yoo drew though his opponent had a chance though played Qd8 instead of Qd7 which was winning!
Though now to GM Lenderman's game here he played the crazy opening Gareeyv!

Now GM Lenderman and IM Yoo are tied so here is the armageddon which Yoo bid lower then Lenderman by 13 seconds so Yoo had black and here was the game!
