How I did in the ChessKid Worldwide Bullet Championship
Hey ChessBeard fans!
Sorry for posting this on a Wednesday. I usually try to post Tuesdays, but analyzing 15 separate games took longer to do than I thought!
Perhaps you have heard of the ChessKid Worldwide Bullet Championship. It was held on Chesskid at February 25th 2023. Today, I will be showing you every game which I have played in that tournament!
But first off...
Today one of my best friends was... banned. @RwandaChessMaster was the guy, I am now the new owner of two of his clubs. His profile was closed for fair play. I trust Chess.com staff know what they are doing... I just wish that I could say goodbye to him.
Besides that, did my avatar change? Yeah it did. I might change it again soon, even though I got a surprisingly lot of positive feedback from it. Although, in my opinion I think that it is a bit cringe, so I'm not sure if I should keep it. Feel free to tell me your opinion on it in the comments!
And yes, I did draw it completely myself.
Let's get on to the chess part of this blog, finally, because there is a lot of it. To start off, I hope that you are familiar with CHESSKID. If not, here is an article on Chesskid: Chesskid.com/what-is-chesskid. I know a bunch of my friends who use Chesskid, some of which played in the bullet championship! What's my username on Chesskid, anyway? SHEEPYSHEEP! yes that does sound stupid but I don't think Chesskid let's you change your username. lol
Here is a link to my Chesskid profile, but I am not sure if the link will work. https://www.chesskid.com/user/SheepySheep/profile
I tried to get a good photo of my Chesskid profile to post here, but there was a big sign on it saying "UPGRADE TO GOLD MEMBERSHIP" and that looked annoying. So here is a photo of my Chesskid rating instead.
Over 1500 is good for Chesskid, but don't forget to keep in mind that Chesskid ratings are a lot more different from Chess.com ratings. I have been playing on Chesskid for 8 years now and I think my rating should be higher... but what do I know?
So, the time frame for the Chesskid Worldwide Bullet Championship was 1 minute + 1 second (keep this in mind when viewing my games, which we will do in a moment!) The tournament had 15 rounds which would continue until the tournament is over, and 450 players joined(which is a lot for Chesskid!)
Let's finally start reviewing some games! First off, how did I do in Round 1? (Don't forget to read the annotations, even though I don't annotate too many games and I made a few grammar mistakes and logic mistakes... )
As you would expect, credit to the user who played with me! You can see the username from the Chesskid user at the top of the board, as well as their rating. (This user played really well for his rating!)
Now, let's hurry this along because we have 15 games to look at. TIME FOR... Round 2:
I am kinda annoyed with the second round because there were 450 players in the tournament and I PLAYED WITH THE SECOND HIGHEST RATED PLAYER!! That is actually really cool, but also disappointing because I knew he would beat me and he absolutely did. This crushed some of my hopes of winning but let's not let this game discourage us too much.
On to Round 3!
Got him on time.
Round 4:
I think the Checkmate looks really sweet at the end of this one! What do you think?
Moving to Round 5:
WOW DID YOU SEE THAT?? HE HAD 200 MORE RATING THEN ME AND HE GAVE ME SUCH AN EASY CHECKMATE!! I've actually had this happen to me before, both where I make a really bad blunder and my opponent makes a really bad blunder. This game was the highest rated player that I won against in the entire tournament. It also brought my hopes up. So far, I am position #41th in the tournament, and my friend @TellingMoose was actually 3rd place!
Let's keep moving. Time for ... Round 6:
Another player with 200 more- no- almost 300 more rating then me! I got a draw as you can see. That made me happy.
Round 7:
Finally, I knew this might happen. This was quite a miserable loss for me. I tried playing to the end to win on time but I failed.
Round 8:
The user @DullHushedTime I actually played against before. He won against me like 3 times.
Round 9:
Another win. Interesting way to end the game there, partner.
Round 10:
I just resigned that game because I didn't feel like playing with another high rated player.
Round 11:
OK ROUND 11 WAS SO EMBARRASSING FOR ME I'M NOT EVEN GONNA SHOW IT
Round 12:
That one is kind of a long game, you could say. Won on time again.
Round 13:
Scotch game. I like scotch.
Round 14, we are getting near the end!!
Now, that was just rude for that user to play to the very end and then resign. But a win is still a win, so I'm not gonna complain.
I made it! Last round!!
AND-
I am #66 out of 451 players. So, if my math is right, I would lose after playing with every 7th player.
I guess that's it! Do you have a favourite game? I definitely liked playing with the 2nd highest rated player. If you like Chesskid and like chatting with other Chesskids, You can join this club!
Questions? This is a very long blog and I'm not sure if I am forgetting anything. Leave a comment down below! All feedback is appreciated!
Until next time! Now I'm off to eat pizza.
