Studying BRILLIANT Chess Moves!!

Welcome! Happy to see you reading my blog!

Section 1. The starting point.

Today, we are going to be analyzing live, open seek games I played showcasing - you guessed it - BRILLIANT MOVES! Now, I can not analyze every single game I play because I do not even have a premium membership, so I am not sure how many brilliant moves I actually got. But hey! Whatever works!

My original plan was to make a blog about my first ever brilliant move (I will show it later!), but I realized there are already lots of blogs about player's first ever brilliant moves, so I was not to sure if I should post that type of blog. A few weeks after my first ever brilliant move, I actually got a second brilliant move!! Soon after that, about two days later, I even got my third ever brilliant move! I thought that was enough to make a blog, but I am going even further! In the meantime of when I was getting brilliant moves, I also tracked down that my opponents made not one, but two brilliant moves!

Stay tuned!

Also, one more thing before we start, shoutout to @FoxyBro1987 for his continued help and support for my blog, as well as being a great friend!

Section 2. Future Legend?

As you remember my previous blog, (if not, click this link to check it out), there I was surprised to find that I made it to the next rank, champion league! But what about the next rank, LEGEND? Well, lots of my friends have told me that it is actually very hard to advance to LEGEND league. After I saw my division at the end of the week, I saw that they are right. What I plan to do is keep studying and analyzing games and when I feel ready, SMASH my league and steal the title as LEGEND! So, I guess it will be a while before you stop by my blog again and find me at LEGEND league.

Why do I keep putting LEGEND in caps?!

Section 3. The next generation of brilliance.

Alright, now to move on to the brilliant moves. First we will be showcasing the games when my opponents make brilliant moves. If you remember well from this same blog that I linked earlier, I actually featured a game with a brilliant move. Let's study that game again!

As usual, thanks to my opponent for playing the game with me! You may have noticed, I am not the highest rated player who doesn't have an alt account, so I am not actually too sure why the move in that game was brilliant. I guess it was the only way to keep white (me) from gaining an advantage? Anyway, I still hope you learned something from that game.

Let's continue to the next and final game where my opponent makes a brilliant move!

Indeed. Brilliant.

Let's move... on... Section 4. My brilliance is overrated.

It's that time, I get to show my brilliant moves! I was looking forward to this day when I created my chess.com account! I can't believe it's here!

I am really thankful for my opponents who play with me, but sometimes I think it is better not to show other player's usernames, because sometimes it can be "embarrassing" to lose games. Although, just for the purpose of proving these are real, open-seek games, I decided I will leave my opponent's username alone instead of changing it to something like "Follow ChessComTakeover".

Basically like this.

What? I'm stalling? You don't think I actually made enough brilliant moves for a blog? Well, let's just...

There it is! I used those orange arrows to show why it was brilliant. This was what I call "an easier brilliant move". I still remember how happy I was to get this brilliant move because I thought they were so rare. But fun fact... brilliant moves are not actually too... brilliant. They actually are very common, especially for higher-rated players. But still!

Let's move on.

How about another brilliant move for you? How many can you eat?

The game was not going too well for me, when all the sudden... I got that idea! I like to say, "some tactic is better then none". And it worked! My opponent did not see and I took my chance. That game, for sure, made my day!

Now for my last brilliant move, sadly. Also I saved this one for last because I learned the most from it. I will explain a bit more after the game what I did wrong. At least I ended up winning in the end...

Ok, time to explain how I screwed up the brilliant move. So, after black took my bishop with the queen, I traded queens because I wanted to gain a rook. But I actually could have WON AN ENTIRE QUEEN INSTEAD, thanks to a friend for pointing this out. Here's what I should have done in the game:

Section 5. Thanks for reading.

I definitely learned a lot of things from the last game, and even some from my other brilliant moves! Have you learned anything new? Now, I know a lot of you have a lot more brilliant moves then I do, would you like to share some of them down below? If you have any other thoughts/suggestions, be sure to leave a comment! If you want to join a club where you can suggest upcoming blogs for me and take part in contests, then consider joining this club! If you can do me another huge favor, share this blog with one of your friends!

As always, thank you so much for reading and I hope you stop by on my next blog!

Until next time!

I gotta get something to eat now, I'm famished...
