The Englund Gambit.
The Englund Gambit is a very simple oening that I will be teaching you in this exact blog.
1. d4 e5
Black sacrifices a pawn right away to get fast development and surprise the opponent.
2. dxe5 Nc6 {Black attacks the pawn on e5 and brings a knight out.
Goal: win the pawn back and build quick pressure.
3. Nf3 Qe7 {A typical Englund move.
The queen hits the e5 pawn again and clears the way for kingside pieces.
4. Bf4 Qb4+ {A sneaky check!
Now the bishop on f4 is attacked — and the queen eyes the b2 pawn.
5. Bd2 Qxb2 {Black grabs the pawn on b2 and threatens the rook on a1.
This creates big pressure and forces White to defend carefully.
6. Nc3 Nb4 {A classic trap idea!
Black threatens Nxc2+ which would fork the king and rook.
White must play carefully here.
7. Rc1 Nxa2 {If White forgets to defend, Black can even take the rook.
Even though engines say White is better, this opening gives fast attacking chances.
